About the Artist

Welcome to my creative space! I am a fine artist dedicated to exploring the beauty of the human experience through various artistic mediums, including digital art, collages, marker drawings, and paintings. My work is characterized by vibrant colors, intricate details, and a deep emotional resonance that invites viewers to connect with the art personally.

As an artist, I blend technology with traditional techniques in digital art to create captivating visuals that tell stories and evoke feelings. My collage pieces combine diverse materials and textures, creating unique compositions that challenge perceptions and inspire curiosity. Through marker drawings and paintings, I explore themes of nature, spirituality, and the human condition, using bold lines and expressive brushwork to convey movement and emotion.

A Little About Me...

Art has been a constant source of solace and self-expression throughout my life, serving as a beacon of hope during my darkest times. As a child, art class was my sanctuary in school, offering a respite from the challenges I faced daily. Growing up, I grappled with severe depression and suicidal ideations, which led to several attempts to end my life over the years. During these tumultuous times, art remained the sole source of joy and accomplishment in my life, providing a lifeline when I felt adrift in a sea of despair.

As I entered adulthood, receiving an autism diagnosis brought clarity to many of the struggles I had experienced. This diagnosis led me to join a studio specifically designed for people with disabilities, an experience that proved transformative. For the first time in my life, I found a place where I could truly be myself, free from the exhausting need to mask my autistic traits. The studio became a haven where I could express my authentic self through art, surrounded by understanding and acceptance.

Later in life, I was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a condition that significantly impacts my daily life. POTS causes me to faint 3-4 times a day, leaves me in a constant state of dizziness, and sometimes confines me to bed for weeks at a time. The unpredictable nature of this condition has forced me to adapt my artistic practice, but it has not diminished my passion for creating.

To accommodate the limitations imposed by POTS, I invested in an iPad, which has become an invaluable tool in my artistic journey. This device allows me to continue creating digital art even when I'm bedridden, providing a crucial outlet for any lingering anxiety or depression that often accompanies prolonged periods of inactivity. The ability to express myself artistically, regardless of my physical state, has been instrumental in maintaining my mental health and sense of purpose.

While my physical health issues have reduced the frequency with which I can attend the disability-focused studio, I still make every effort to participate when my health allows. These visits remain a cherished part of my life, offering opportunities for community, growth, and unbridled creativity. The studio continues to be a place where I can fully embrace my identity as an autistic artist and connect with others who share similar experiences.

Throughout the challenges I've faced - from childhood depression to adult diagnoses of autism and POTS - art has remained a constant, comforting presence in my life. It has been a means of communication when words failed me, a source of joy in times of darkness, and a way to connect with others and myself on a deeper level. The ability to create, whether through traditional mediums or digital art on my iPad, is a blessing that I never take for granted. I am profoundly grateful for the role art has played in my journey, helping me navigate life's difficulties and celebrate its joys. Despite the obstacles I continue to face, I am committed to nurturing my artistic practice, knowing that it is not just a hobby, but a vital part of my well-being and identity.
